I finally saw Where the Wild Things Are. And I'm glad that I did. Am I going to run out and by the DVD? No, but I liked it. (And by "run out and buy the DVD" I totally mean "go to amazon.com and buy the DVD.")

Lines that stuck out:

- "That was fun, we forgot how to have fun." Think about that for a minute. When was the last time you had fun? Did you have fun today? Have fun. Have more fun.

- "This is all yours. You're the owner of this world. Everything you see is yours." 

Also, James Gandolfini does the voice of Carol. Sometimes I pretended that Carol was the Tony Soprano of the Wild Things. Some of the lines could have worked for either Carol or Tony and that made me chuckle. 

Zombieland Review

I watched Zombieland last night and I enjoyed it a lot. It was a fun and funny ride. There was lots of product placement, but I think it was done in an intelligent way.

In the bonus features, director Ruben Fleischer said, "My pitch all along has been Midnight Run with zombies." Enough said. If that line was in the previews, I would have seen this movie in theaters.

I drove in the snow today. I miss driving in the snow. It calls for an extra level of awareness and alertness. You have to be in control while watching out for others who aren't in control.

I drove to the MFA to met Jeffrey Ellse for lunch. Jeff's an old friend (who gave me my first skateboard, which I still have today) and a great artist. Click the picture to see more of Jeff's work.

DJ Khaled McDonald's commercials.

I just came across these DJ Khaled McDonald's commercials and they are outstanding. So many great lines. I want more Khaled commercials. Think about it...what Khaled commercial wouldn't be entertaining?

Paperclips - These paperclips the best! They BENDY! But not TOO BENDY! BUT they're STURDY TOO! BENDY AND STURDY! And they way they hold your papers together! Aw man! I used them jumbo paperclips on MY MONEY!

Sporks - Let me tell you about SPORKS! IT'S A SPOON AND A FORK! You can EAT ANYTHING WITH THESE!

Sucrets - Tell me it wouldn't be awesome to hear DJ Khaled yell "sucrets" and "lozenges."

(Talking about a McCafe Hot Chocolate) "...and then you take a sip and that whip (whop) creams on your face and even hits your nose. You don't even get mad! You don't even wipe it off! Cause you immediately go back in for more hot chocolate."

This one has two commercials. Make sure you listen to both.

(Talking about the McDonald's Dollar Menu) "You heard me last time - that double cheeseburger, like I said, when I take a bite, I look at it and I see a lot more bites left. And it's only for a dollar. Now the chicken nuggets with that barbecue sauce. I don't know about you but I know about me - I put two or three in my mouth immediately and start eating them like crazy. And you know what I do? I go back in my pocket, I more more nuggets! And I get another double cheeseburger! You wanna know why? Because it's a recession out there and I love food and it's only for a dollar!"

Strange Porn Rap signs

First off, the Pre takes some very good pictures. Now, on to the um, pictures of interesting signs that I took today.

Let start with the "Huge Moving Sale" sign. That was something on its own before all the "Rap" and "Porn" was added. "Saw 5" and "Blacula" were also written on it (towards the top). Interesting. More on this Porn Rap sign in a bit.

"Violating Ve icle ill Be Towed At Owner penis." If you say "ill be towed" it sounds like it could be the name of a place or something.

I'm going on vacation next month.

Hey look! It's the Rap Porn guy. Only this time he (or she?) is a lot more Porn than Rap. Other notable words: Tupac Shakur, Mariah Carey, Twix, Jaws & Chess."

This makes me want to play chess with Tupac and eat a Twix.

Confederations Cup Live Commentary on ESPN.com

I'm sure a bunch of you were watched the USA - Brazil Confederations Cup soccer match on ESPN but you should have also been following the live commentary updates on ESPN.com. Here are some of the best:

• 4'       Julio Cesar is wearing so many layers he looks like the Michelin Man. It's not that cold, what a softie.
• 15'     Melo finds Maicon and his cross is dangerous, but when it falls to Kaka on the left side of the area, he has nothing on - in terms of men to pass to, rather than being naked.
• 32'     Brazil are beginning to bitch.
• 51'     Robinho gives away a foul and wanders off mumbling inanities to himself. He really is a snivelling little wimp.
• 60'     Very odd that Pato is still sitting on the bench. There's none so blind as those who will not see.
• 67' Amazing pass from Elano to Ales, but his touch was poor. Perhaps he'd be less cumbersome were he not dressed for a cold day on Pluto.
• 89'     Good play from Alves and Kaka down the Brazilian right, before Kaka's curler drifts well past the back post.
• 89'     Of course I mean Kaka's curling shot, rather than the rollers he puts in his hair at night.

The line at the end of the 60 minute mark comment sounds like a fortune cookie fortune. The whole thing reminds me of a Bill Simmons running diary. I wonder who was doing was doing it...he/she gets a gold star for a job well done from me.
